The primary function of the Medical Billing Clerk is to assist with the coordination of billing, scheduling, intake, and quality assurance functions. This role includes maintaining patient schedules efficiently and in compliance with authorizations, verifying Medicaid and Managed Care eligibility and benefits, and handling various billing projects such as requesting medical records and authorizations from health plans. The Medical Billing Clerk will also conduct chart audits for completion, monitor the Call Dashboard according to agency policy, and document each visit when an aide fails to call in or out. Additionally, the clerk will notify clients and supervisors of any changes in service in a timely manner, document all missed visits with appropriate reasons, and assist caregivers with clock in and out issues.
