About The Position
Busy ophthalmology clinic seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to manage insurance follow-up, denials, and outstanding claims. The ideal candidate has strong medical billing experience and understands ophthalmology procedures, modifiers, and insurance reimbursement processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- 2+ years of medical billing and AR experience required
- Ophthalmology billing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier usage
- Experience with surgical billing and global periods preferred
- Strong understanding of Medicare and commercial insurance guidelines
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills

Responsibilities
- Work AR aging reports and follow up on unpaid claims
- Contact commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and vision plans for claim resolution
- Review EOBs and address denials, rejections, and underpayments
- Submit corrected claims and appeals
- Post payments and reconcile accounts
- Resolve coding and modifier-related issues
- Maintain detailed documentation of account activity
- Assist with month-end AR reporting
