About The Position

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with insurance companies and patients.
• Medical billing certification preferred.

• Willingness to train students who have completed the HIM program at LCC or similar programs.

Responsibilities

• Post insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments accurately.
• Review and process medical claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Work closely with insurance companies to follow up on outstanding claims.
• Verify that billing codes are accurate and match the services provided.
• Reconcile payments and adjustments with patient accounts and ensure accuracy.
• Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding billing issues.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers in compliance with industry standards.
• Assist with month-end closing processes and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
