About The Position

We’re looking for a Medical Biller / Collector who understands that timely, accurate billing plays a direct role in sustaining high-quality mental health treatment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2–3 years of experience in medical billing, eligibility, or medical collections required
  • Behavioral health billing experience strongly preferred
  • CollaborateMD experience required
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, third-party payers, and private pay accounts
  • Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills
  • Must pass a LiveScan criminal background check
  • CPR & First Aid Certification required
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with high-volume billing data
  • Professional and confident when communicating with insurance carriers and clients
  • Able to manage follow-ups, deadlines, and multiple priorities with consistency
  • Committed to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Collaborative and team-focused, with a strong sense of accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Behavioral health billing experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implement effective collection strategies for outstanding and unpaid accounts
  • Contact insurance carriers to confirm claim receipt and resolve payment delays
  • Communicate professionally with insurance companies, third-party payers, and private pay clients
  • Complete and document a minimum number of daily collection contacts
  • Collaborate with the billing team on denials, appeals, and escalations
  • Analyze patient accounts to determine appropriate billing and payment responsibility
  • Prepare and submit accurate claims in accordance with payer guidelines
  • Maintain working knowledge of eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
  • Run weekly and monthly billing and aging reports to support revenue tracking
  • Review billing data prior to submission to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support audits
