About The Position
The Medical Authorization Specialist handles a high volume of sensitive medical, financial and personal information on a daily basis. The Medical Authorization Specialist is responsible but not limited to the completion of a variety of Bureau of Workers Compensation forms, submission of online requests, as well as other administrative functions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes required
- Minimum three years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare facility required
- Strong communication, financial, and analytical skills
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Working knowledge of all business office equipment including computing and keyboarding skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to thrive in a changing environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of OBWC, DOL, FMLA, is recommended
- Applicants must have strong knowledge of medical terminology and a thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
- Knowledge of EPIC preferred.
