Requirements

• HS Graduate or Equivalent

• Understanding of completing prior authorizations and other insurance needs
• Excellent customer service skills
• Exceptional verbal and written Commnication skills
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
• Abides by all HIPAA guidelines
• Abides by all hospital policies and procedures
• Medical Assistant certification

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current electronic medical record (Allscripts, Epic)
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances

Responsibilities

• Assists with in office procedures
• Collects vitals, weight, and patient information and completes any initial testing in preparation for provider
• Completes medication reconciliation
• Orders any testing or labs requested by provider
• Completes all Prior Authorizations for tests and surgeries ordered
• Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures as needed
• Prepare meds for injections
• Call patients with results
• Complete FMLA paperwork
• Maintain stock
• Scan/index medical records
• Performs other duties as assigned
