About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Laredo Medical Center's Laredo Physician Associates involves providing essential support to healthcare providers in a primary care setting. The role focuses on assisting with patient care, managing appointments, and performing various clinical tasks, ensuring that the values of the medical center are upheld in all operations.

Requirements

• Complete Medical Assistant training from an approved program or six months of patient care experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Prior experience in a medical office (preferred).
• Strong organizational and communication skills with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patient care and perform front duties as designated by the provider and/or Office Manager.
• Make patient appointments and communicate information to patients and their families.
• Assist with phlebotomy, special collections, EKGs, and other duties assigned by the director.
• Ensure that the LMC values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operations.
