About The Position

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in both front and back office procedures. This position serves as a direct liaison between patients and providers, ensuring that patient inquiries are addressed effectively. Medical Assistants in a Medical Home setting are integral to the patient care team, collaborating closely with healthcare providers and nurses to enhance patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Multi-physician office practice experience preferred.
• Current State of Nevada license for Office Laboratory Assistant or Certified Laboratory Assistant, or application must be submitted within 90 days of employment.
• Current AHA BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment required.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or EMT certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a multi-physician office practice setting.
• Completion of an externship in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in back office duties including escorting patients to examination rooms and taking vital signs.
• Maintain examination room stock and document all patient communications.
• Prepare lab specimens for processing and complete necessary referral forms.
• Obtain authorizations for referrals and keep records of them.
• Schedule patients for tests and manage phone calls related to patient care.
• Administer treatments and medications as per provider orders.
