About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Auburn University at Montgomery involves a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support the Warhawk Health Services department. The role requires answering phone calls, making appointments, checking in and out patients, and collecting payments in the absence of an Associate. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for triaging patients, taking vital signs, reconciling home medications, and obtaining health histories. Additional duties include administering vaccines and medications, performing EKGs, nebulizer treatments, venipuncture, urinalysis, and glucose testing. The position also involves assisting with referrals, orientations, and STD clinics, as well as maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations. The Medical Assistant will order medical supplies, maintain inventory, clean patient rooms, and perform other duties as delegated by the Director.
