About The Position

Medical Assistants play a vital role in the practice by prepping patients for their visits in a timely, professional and courteous manner. They work directly with patients, physicians, nurses and other staff members at all times. They report to the Clinic Nurse Manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to deal with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Excellent bedside manner and ability to make patients feel at ease
• Ability to take instruction from a doctor
• Familiarity with medical charts and records
• Electronic medical record (EMR) skills required: EPIC.

Nice To Haves

• Previous back office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as they enter the clinic and escort them to the exam rooms
• Take patient vitals and a brief medical history accurately
• Assist the physician during exams and medical procedures
• Occasionally perform other medical duties under the supervision of the doctor
• Calm nervous patients
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and medical records are kept secure and confidential
• Keep patient records current
• Enter patient medical information into Epic accurately
• Keep exam rooms and bathrooms stocked with supplies and tidy
• Clean rooms after each patient
• Able to travel to nearby satellite locations when needed
• Perform other duties as needed
