Job Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) role supports clinical and administrative functions, including assisting with medical procedures, maintaining exam rooms, managing patient intake, and ensuring efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent patient service.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certificate issued by an accredited institution approved by the State licensed to work, or at least (1) year experience working in a health care setting that includes direct patient contact

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience
  • BLS certification
  • At least 5 years as a certified medical assistant
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examinations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing medications and medical history, allergies, and performing all ancillary tests required.
  • Assists providers during patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
  • Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
  • Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
  • Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Comply with all OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
