About The Position

Ruston Rheumatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. This is a part-time position located in Ruston, Louisiana.

SUMMARY:

Assists with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks.
Obtains medical history and vital signs
Administers medication/injections
Performs Scribe duties by documenting patient encounters in real-time into the EHR as directed by the Provider.
Ability to rotate through both front and back office
Front office duties include scheduling, checking in/out patients, insurance verification, collection of copays, answering phones, etc.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
Conveys a positive image of the clinic.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• 1 year of primary care office or urgent care setting preferred.
• 1 year of MA and Scribe responsibilities
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required

Nice To Haves

• Front office experience preferred but not required
