Under general supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant will provide outstanding care in service to patients and physicians. The CMA must be able to assist the Physician with patient flow in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This role involves obtaining, reviewing, and documenting patient medical history and vital signs, preparing patients for examination, assisting physicians, providing patient education, administering medications, processing pharmacy requests, pre-certifying patients for treatment, managing orders, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, following up on patient labs and records, ensuring correct provider scheduling, performing minor procedures like stent and suture removal, maintaining examination room upkeep and cleanliness, performing venipuncture (where applicable), and maintaining HIPAA compliance and OSHA standards of care. The position also requires maintaining positive and respectful dialogue.
