About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG), you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the day for patients and the clinical team. This involves proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in the facility. You can expect to work with multiple patients daily, depending on the number of physicians on-site. Success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for patients. Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona, employing approximately 400 providers and 1200 support staff across 73 subspecialty services. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers, with 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout 25 academic programs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program
  • Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours
  • Demonstrated experience with computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
  • American Heart Association BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MA experience
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
  • Previous experience in designated specialty
  • Bilingual skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol
  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
  • Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assists in patient/equipment preparation
  • Performs follow-up actions as directed
  • Completes hospital forms per protocol
  • Proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date
