Key Responsibilities As an Intake Medical Assistant (MA) at NYH, you will be integral to the care and support of both patients and the medical team. Your primary responsibilities will include: Patient Care: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Record patients' vital signs. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Perform diagnostic testing under the direct supervision of a Physician or APP. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Support & Coordination: Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.Prepare examination rooms for consults and procedures. Patient Interaction: Prepare patients for examinations/procedures. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Clinical Support: Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform diagnostic testing under the direct supervision of a Physician or APP.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 1 year of working in an outpatient medical facility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
  • Experience with EMR’s
  • Attention to detail and professional conduct
  • Reliable transportation to travel between NYH locations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Responsibilities
