The Medical Assistant provides general front and back office support to professional staff. This role involves escorting patients to exam rooms, maintaining clean and well-stocked rooms, and handling medical front and back office procedures. The Medical Assistant provides quality phone service, schedules patients, answers messages promptly, and maintains accurate patient information and medical records. Under the direction of a Provider, the Medical Assistant performs various duties related to patient examination and treatment, potentially specializing. The MA takes a proactive approach to serve the patient population, performs clerical support duties including reception, telephone, scheduling, message management, and data input, and provides care according to organizational policies and protocols. The MA works within a team model to enhance the patient experience, improve communication and access to care, and support processes for patient satisfaction.
