Full-Time Medical Assistant
About The Position
HealthWorks Family Medicine is looking for a self-motivated and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our primary care medical team. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule. Hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Some late afternoon, short notice overtime is also a possibility. Under immediate supervision, supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in the provision of patient care; includes recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation.
Requirements
- BLS certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required, must be current.
- CNA Licensure or Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure (KY State Licensure Required)
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to organize, perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks
- Ability to organize, attend and participate in staff development, training, and wellness programs
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s Degree (preferred)
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assists with providing patient care: records vital signs; discusses and records chief health concerns; performs tests; administers injections.
- Pulls and prepares patient charts; answers the phone; performs other general office duties as required.
- Maintains neatness of work area; stocks patient rooms with supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
