We have an immediate need for a dependable and experienced individual to join our medical team as a full-time Medical Assistant in Chesterton, IN. This role involves providing both administrative assistance and clinical support.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- Recent Medical Assistant experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency, including keyboarding, Microsoft Office, and eClinicalWorks or similar Electronic Medical Record platform.
- Proficient in typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to exhibit core values (Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Professionalism, Confidentiality, Quality of Care) and regularly encourage others to do the same.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with superiors and peers.

Responsibilities
- Escort patients to the exam room, escort them to the treatment room and be present during examination/treatment to assist the physician in treatment procedures.
- Interview patients to obtain medical histories and relevant information and document or input data into the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collects all medical data to help the physician's ability to draw conclusions about the patient's needs.
- Ensure all charts and forms for the office visit are ready for the provider.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Cleans and disinfects exam rooms between each patient and restocks supplies.
- Assists RN in preparing patients for clinic or OR procedures.
- Monitor patients' recovery process and inform the provider of observations.
- Maintain communication with patients after treatment to monitor their progress.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing workflows and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and always maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assists in keeping clinic orderly and follows appropriate cleaning protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.
