We have an immediate need for a dependable and experienced individual to join our medical team as a full-time Medical Assistant in Chesterton, IN. This role involves providing both administrative assistance and clinical support.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Recent Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including keyboarding, Microsoft Office, and eClinicalWorks or similar Electronic Medical Record platform.
  • Proficient in typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Ability to exhibit core values (Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Professionalism, Confidentiality, Quality of Care) and regularly encourage others to do the same.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with superiors and peers.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to the exam room, escort them to the treatment room and be present during examination/treatment to assist the physician in treatment procedures.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical histories and relevant information and document or input data into the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collects all medical data to help the physician's ability to draw conclusions about the patient's needs.
  • Ensure all charts and forms for the office visit are ready for the provider.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Cleans and disinfects exam rooms between each patient and restocks supplies.
  • Assists RN in preparing patients for clinic or OR procedures.
  • Monitor patients' recovery process and inform the provider of observations.
  • Maintain communication with patients after treatment to monitor their progress.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing workflows and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and always maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Assists in keeping clinic orderly and follows appropriate cleaning protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.
