Schedule: Part Time 20 hours/week, Monday and Friday 8a-5p, Will work an additional 1/2 day per week or additional 1 day every other week Location: 2363 63RD ST, Woodridge, 60517 The role you'll contribute: Assists the physician in providing medical care to patients of various ages according to the policy of individual practice, in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies and procedures. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Responsible for helping practice and physician achieve all meaningful use measures. Demonstrates effective use and support of the Customer and Superior Service Standards, within the hospital and physician office settings, at all times. Functions under the supervision of the physician and the Practice Manager/Office Supervisor. The value you'll bring to the team: + Organizes and reviews incoming test results and forwards them to the physician, tracking impending test results and following up with patients as needed. + Recognizes and responds to emergencies. + Performs tests and prepares specimens for outside lab testing as ordered by the physician. + Maintains examination rooms and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and readiness. + Manages inventory of clinical supplies, bio-hazardous waste, and sample medications, ensuring proper labeling, disposal, and sterilization of instruments. + Prepares and assists patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments. + Maintains medication and immunization records. + Other duties as assigned. + Schedules inpatient/outpatient admissions and procedures, providing cross-training and relief for other staff members as needed. + Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients using established guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equiv Required
  • Candidate must also be proficient and possess current working knowledge in the use of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Internet.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Must be able to adapt easily to changes in the work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, inter-personal and organizational skills are also required.
  • Job duties require self-motivation and persistence; along with strict, self-imposed time management and using discernment when prioritizing projects and daily workload. Seeks further education and personal growth
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program within the last Five years Required OR
  • Six or more months of experience as a medical assistant or related clinical experience within the last Three years Required
