We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will play a key part in providing high-quality patient care. Position Overview - (full-time/40 hours) Under the direction of the Health Services Administrator and onsite Clinical Director, the Medical Assistant will work as part of a treatment team to provide exceptional medical, mental health, and addiction recovery services to our patients by assisting the providers with collecting patient histories, vitals, performing routine lab collection, preparing lab specimens for transfer, immunization management with IRIS (Idaho) or the WyIR (Wyoming), Immunization administration to clients and patient education. Respond to patient and medical inquiries as directed by providers. Assists providers with medication reconciliation, and day-to-day phone call return. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures governing accounting, medical billing, and financial recordkeeping.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and ability to produce, read and analyze financial reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products; knowledge and ability to operate various office equipment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service in all interactions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to accurately manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Successful completion of HCBH pre-employment screening and background check.
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general appearance, cleanliness, inventory, and organization of clinical areas.
  • Prepare and replenish supplies. Maintain inventory and expiration dates.
  • Prepare patients for examination.
  • Take patient histories, height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, oxygenation levels and pulse.
  • Prepare and administer patient medication under provider's supervision.
  • Assist in collection of specimens and completion of laboratory tests.
  • Receive and organize medication samples. Ensuring medication expiration check is conducted monthly.
  • Properly dispose of contaminated and disposable items.
  • Assists in the proper scheduling and registration of patients, and the maintenance of patient medical records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Observe patient care while receiving treatment such as TMS therapy or SPRAVATO®
  • Communicate medical treatment, pharmaceutical, and related information to patient’s and respective health care providers and pharmacies as directed by providers.
  • Observe absolute confidence regarding patient records and information.
