The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including organizing patient flow, chart management, assisting in patient exam/procedure, collecting patient history, scheduling follow-up procedures/surgeries, and answering patient care questions. This position also is responsible for ensuring patient exam rooms are cleaned, stocked, and organized after each visit.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training which will probably be indicated by graduation from an Accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training and experience working in this field appropriate additional experience may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care field and medical specialty.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Core competencies in communication, customer service, teamwork, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willing to travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Works effectively as part of a team to ensure quality patient care/experience.
  • Organized and prepared. Maintain supplies in the exam rooms, ensure that clinics have everything they need to run efficiently (Diagnostic exams, outside reports, injections, etc.) Prepares in the Electronic Medical Record for upcoming clinics. Reviews schedule know patients and why they are coming
  • Detail oriented when entering information in Electronic Medical Record, billing, health history, diagnostic reports, diagnoses, orders, consents, medications, etc.
  • Demonstrates competency according to clinic guidelines and policies in the following areas; aseptic and sterile technique, wound and incision dressings, staple, suture removal, procedure assist, and sharps safety.
  • Follows clinical guidelines, behavioral standards, and operational expectations established by clinic leadership and clinic policies and procedures manual.
