About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative and clinical responsibilities. This role involves performing a variety of activities, including moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, as well as computations. The Medical Assistant reports to the Center Administrator. The position is part of Conviva Senior Primary Care, which is a component of Humana's Primary Care Organization, including CenterWell Senior Primary Care. Conviva focuses on providing proactive, preventive, and value-based care to seniors, addressing physical, emotional, social, behavioral, and financial needs to ensure high-quality, accessible, comprehensive, and personalized healthcare.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • MUST be Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • CPR Certified
  • Required to be screened for TB (Tuberculosis) as this role is patient facing

Nice To Haves

  • Certified or Registered (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care
  • Performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments
  • Perform computations
  • Document patient symptoms in EMR
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Administer injections
  • Perform diagnostic tests
  • Collect specimens and draw blood
  • Sterilize equipment
  • Maintain examination rooms
