The posted wage range reflects the full range for this role. Placement within the range is based on job-related factors, and new hires typically start below the midpoint. Position Summary: The Medical Assistant is responsible for a range of administrative tasks, assisting with person served care, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The Medical Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and safety of the medication room.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant program
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a medical office, residential treatment facility, hospital, or outpatient clinic setting preferred
  • Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records (EHR)

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming phone calls, address inquiries from persons served, and schedule, coordinate, and confirm appointments.
  • Maintain, obtain, and safeguard persons served records in strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to Medication Room Attendants (MRAs).
  • Train and mentor staff on medication-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure medication rooms remain compliant with applicable Washington Administrative Code (WAC) regulations.
  • Collect, monitor, and accurately document vital signs and blood glucose readings as requested.
  • Administer medications, observe self-administration, and administer injections in accordance with provider orders and licensing standards.
  • Deliver education, guidance, and support to persons served related to medications and health needs.
  • Conduct regular medication room audits aligned with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation within client charts.
  • Attend all required meetings and actively contribute to team collaboration and communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, within the scope of professional licensing.
