The posted wage range reflects the full range for this role. Placement within the range is based on job-related factors, and new hires typically start below the midpoint. Position Summary: The Medical Assistant is responsible for a range of administrative tasks, assisting with person served care, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The Medical Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and safety of the medication room.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of Medical Assistant program
Active Medical Assistant Certification required

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a medical office, residential treatment facility, hospital, or outpatient clinic setting preferred
Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records (EHR)

Responsibilities

Manage incoming phone calls, address inquiries from persons served, and schedule, coordinate, and confirm appointments.
Maintain, obtain, and safeguard persons served records in strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
Provide ongoing operational support to Medication Room Attendants (MRAs).
Train and mentor staff on medication-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ensure medication rooms remain compliant with applicable Washington Administrative Code (WAC) regulations.
Collect, monitor, and accurately document vital signs and blood glucose readings as requested.
Administer medications, observe self-administration, and administer injections in accordance with provider orders and licensing standards.
Deliver education, guidance, and support to persons served related to medications and health needs.
Conduct regular medication room audits aligned with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation within client charts.
Attend all required meetings and actively contribute to team collaboration and communication.
Perform additional duties as assigned, within the scope of professional licensing.
