About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at CenterWell Senior Primary Care, you will be the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative and clinical responsibilities. This onsite role in a clinical environment involves performing varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, reporting directly to the Center Administrator. The position is located at the CenterWell Senior Primary Care office in North Myrtle Beach, SC. CenterWell Senior Primary Care focuses on providing proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatment. The care model emphasizes personalized experiences, allowing integrated care teams (physicians, nurses, behavioral health specialists) to spend more time with patients to address physical, emotional, and social well-being, leading to better health outcomes. Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program and a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • OR Certified/Registered Medical Assistant with 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • Required to be screened for Tuberculosis (TB) as this role is patient facing

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years of MA experience
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medication under the direction of healthcare provider
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (HER) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
  • Perform administrative responsibilities
  • Perform operational assignments
  • Perform customer support assignments
