The Medical Assistant role is located in Patchogue, NY, with 5/8.5 hour shifts, Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 6 PM. In this position, you will be responsible for managing patient intakes, collecting and processing lab specimens including venipuncture and diagnostic tests, recording patients' vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, sterilizing medical equipment and instruments, assisting providers and other support staff in data entry, assisting physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures, and performing EKGs and point-of-care testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
  • Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
