The Medical Assistant provides nursing assistance and patient care, focusing on the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. The role involves assisting physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performing various patient care duties as part of a multidisciplinary team, as delegated by a physician. Specific duties will be determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
Requirements
- One (1) year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- Visual color acuity screening depending on the role in specific units
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients
- Assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office setting
- Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician
- Specific duties and responsibilities assigned to the individual will be determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff and Practice Coordinator after competency is established
