Location: 1600 Old Country Road Plainview, NY 11803 Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday between 8:30am & 5:00pm Specialty: Primary Care Optum NY/NJ was formed in 2022 by bringing together Riverside Medical Group, CareMount Medical and ProHealth Care. The regional alignment combines resources and services across the care continuum – from preventative medicine to diagnostics to treatment and beyond across New York, New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut. As a Patient Centered Medical Home, Optum NY/NJ can provide patient-focused medical care to the entire family. You will find our team working in local clinics, surgery centers and urgent care centers, within care models focused on managing risk, higher quality outcomes and driving change through collaboration and innovation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Medical Assisting
  • Experience with vital signs and basic lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, etc.)
  • Epic experience
  • Proven solid computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares exam rooms by disinfecting, stocking, and verifying appropriate medications are available
  • Greets patients and assist them with signing in and completing paperwork
  • Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner
  • Assists and accompanies patients to exam rooms
  • Interviews patients and records information into the medical record
  • Measures, collects, and records patient vital signs
  • Performs basic lab testing and other approved tests
  • Displays proficient phlebotomy practices
  • Prepares specimens for transportation to the lab
  • Assists in examination and treatment of patients under clinician direction
  • Places follow-up phone calls to patients
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Traveling and providing coverage to neighboring sites as needed
