About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital, located in Lakewood, Colorado, is a Level I Trauma Center offering a full range of medical specialties and healthcare services, including being the home base for Flight For Life Colorado. The hospital is equipped with four trauma rooms, including a dedicated field-to-surgery suite. In 2023, St. Anthony Hospital achieved Magnet designation, an honor awarded to only 10 percent of hospitals globally, and has received numerous other awards and accreditations from organizations like the American Heart Association, Chest Pain Center, American College of Cardiology, The Joint Commission, Emergency Nurses Association, NAPBC, and American College of Radiology. The hospital combines expert care with the latest technology and innovation, offering a fast-paced environment in areas such as trauma, cardiology, stroke, neurosciences, breast imaging, cancer/oncology care, and surgery. Medical Assistants (MAs) are highly valued team members who have contributed to creating a structured approach for a more effective and efficient workday, with appropriate workloads and a clear path for professional development. The organization has also established one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs with an accredited local college to prepare future MAs. MAs are considered essential for delivering whole person care and are supported by a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder for growth and development within the system.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association, required
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., required

Responsibilities

  • Assume a supportive role and has responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, wellbeing and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act.
  • May perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Health Physician Group Scope of Practice.
  • May assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and/or patient appointments.
  • Responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance.
  • Attend in?service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship?based care, organizational mission, and core values.
