About The Position

The Medical Assistant at LIFESKILLS GROUP is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of medical facilities. Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures, medical terminology, and behavioral health considerations.
  • Competence with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet access and workflow expectations.
  • Sensitivity, professionalism, and cultural competence in working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to support patients with complex needs in a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented manner.
  • Outpatient clinical environment within a CCBHC setting.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to medical equipment, bodily fluids, and fast-paced clinical operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in patient care and clinical procedures.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare practices.
  • Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with medical examinations.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage patient records and appointments efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Record patient information, including medical history and vital signs, accurately in electronic health records.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the flow of patients in the clinic.
  • Provide patient education and instructions for procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for testing.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient needs are met efficiently.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies and equipment.
