Requirements
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Current BLS
Nice To Haves
- Certification is Preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Interview new patient efficiently and accurately and orders appropriate x-rays utilizing the EMR; This include taking vitals, updating review of systems, history of present Illness, documenting primary care Physician, medications, allergies and correctly documents the past medical, social and family history
- Prepares and administers injections
- Instructs patient with any follow up instructions needed for that visit.
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions by rendering patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Should be able to type minimum 40 wpm accurately
- Proficient in cleaning and caring for instruments and equipment
- Assists provider as directed with office procedures.
- Places any orders per the providers
- Maintains exam rooms including supplies and equipment for physicians.
- Confirms information in system has been completed including any procedures completed in office for that visit prior to the patient checking out
- Utilizes equipment appropriately, including upkeep and repairs.
- Other duties assigned by the Medical Director
