This is a full-time, benefits-eligible Medical Assistant/LPN position (0.8 FTE) within the Med/Peds department. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, adhering to all policies and procedures, and maintaining competency in the area of specialty. Key responsibilities include performing rooming and visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and various screenings. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with or perform procedures as ordered, handle lab-related duties including venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, packing, and results tracking, and conduct Point of Care testing (POCT) in adherence to CLIA standards. Additionally, the role requires safe administration of medications and vaccines, and performing administrative tasks like medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals. The position requires cross-training for specialty-specific duties, effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, stocked work environment. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
