About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative duties and direct patient care responsibilities. This role involves a variety of activities, including moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support tasks, as well as computations. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the Center Administrator. Clinical duties encompass discussing symptoms, inputting patient information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, administering injections, conducting diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and ensuring examination rooms at the outpatient care site are well-maintained. This position is part of Humana's Primary Care Organization, specifically with Conviva Senior Primary Care, which is dedicated to providing proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatment. Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • CPR Certified
  • Required to be screened for TB (as this role is considered patient facing)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
