Make a Difference This Medical Assistant role works under the direct supervision of the registered sleep technologist, position supports the Sleep Technologist performing sleep testing by assisting with room preparation, patient check-in, medical history and medication verification, patient hook-up for sleep testing, and replacing sensors as needed during the duration of testing. The Medical Assistant will be working with a pediatric patient populations ages ranging from 2 to 12 yrs old, and patient parents. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting
  • have excellent communication skills
  • a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
  • Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
  • Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
  • Process referrals
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
