About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative and clinical responsibilities. This role involves performing varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, including computations. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the Center Administrator. Clinical tasks include documenting patient symptoms in EMR, taking and recording vital signs, administering injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining examination rooms. This position is patient-facing and involves running the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. The role is within Conviva Senior Primary Care, part of Humana's Primary Care Organization, which also includes CenterWell Senior Primary Care. Conviva focuses on proactive, preventive, value-based care for seniors, addressing physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being through services like wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatment. Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • CPR Certified
  • Screen for TB (if selected for the role)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified or Registered (required in Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
