About The Position

Esse Health is the largest independent physician practice in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, with over 100 physicians across 35+ locations, serving nearly 130,000 patients. The organization focuses on patient-centered care and is described as a place where medicine is a calling. They are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for their Southroads Internal Medicine office, which operates Monday through Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no nights, weekends, or holidays. This is an outpatient clinical practice position and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
CPR Certification
PC/Windows proficiency

Nice To Haves

Medical coding familiarity
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction
Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments

Responsibilities

Perform back office functions
Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients
Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
