About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the medical and nursing staff in providing care and comfort to infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients during outpatient clinic appointments by performing routine clinical and clerical tasks. In addition, the Medical Assistant is responsible for phlebotomy and assisting with the application and removal of casts. Shriners NCAL is looking for a PRN Medical Assistant to support the Care Management team. This position is per diem, non-exempt, and health insurance eligible. The pay range for this position is $27.88 - $39.36hour. Compensation is determined by experience and department equity.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience

Responsibilities

  • Collect and report data to assist the multidisciplinary team in the evaluation of patient needs
  • Performs a variety of comprehensive registration and scheduling functions
  • Demonstrate open, accurate and timely communication with patients, families and interdisciplinaryteam members to ensure effective therapeutic interventions
