Requirements
- Associates degree related to this field
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant
- Experience with EHR- Athena is a Plus!
Responsibilities
- Manage appointment scheduling for patients, ensuring an organized and efficient flow of patients through the facility.
- Collect and update patient information, including demographics, medical history, medications, allergies, and insurance details.
- Reviewing, working, and managing tasks received in the EHR.
- Managing electronic health records (EHR) by accurately recording patient data, test results, and treatment plans.
- Assisting with billing procedures, coding medical procedures accurately for insurance claims, and handling financial transactions.
- Verifying patient insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations for medical procedures.
- Supporting inbound calls for our patients
- Communicating with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals via phone and email.
- Following up on imaging, lab, DME orders as well as referrals.
- Gathering patient medical history and relevant information before appointments.
- Checking patients in and preparing patients for their telehealth visit.
- Educating patients on medications, and post-treatment care, along with preventive health measures and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Close out duties for clinic- clean up, organize, ect
