The Medical Assistant will support both clinical and administrative functions within our free clinic, helping to ensure each patient receives care delivered with compassion, excellence, and dignity. Requirements

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent clinical experience is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills are required.
  • Self-starter with initiative, able to take ownership and find ways to contribute.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative care team.
  • Commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and serving others with love and grace.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and room patients, ensuring they feel cared for and respected.
  • Take and document vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information accurately.
  • Assist medical providers during exams and procedures as needed.
  • Guide patients through the health care system, helping with referrals, testing, and follow-up care.
  • Perform standard MA duties such as preparing exam rooms, managing supplies, sterilizing equipment, and supporting smooth clinic flow.
  • Take initiative during downtime—organizing, restocking, and identifying ways to improve efficiency.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, coordinating labs and referrals, and maintaining patient records.
  • Collaborate closely with our caring team to enhance clinical services and patient experiences.
  • Approach every patient interaction with empathy, love, and respect.
