Position Summary An Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice. Work Locations: Maplewood and Federal Way Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM
Requirements
- One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred
- Medical related experience preferred
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Proficient in use of internet
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
- Other diagnostic testing such as: Visual acuity, OCT, tonometry, Optos, fluorescein angiography, etc.
- Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
- Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
- Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Assists with opening and closing duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
