About The Position

The Medical Assistant works as a member of an interdisciplinary team in one of MDC’s behavioral healthcare programs, providing quality guest/client care by performing a variety of administrative and clinical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner within the scope of their practice. As directed, perform tasks and procedures within scope of practice, documenting accurately and completely in the medical record of MDC clients/guests. Document client/guest data and interaction in the medical record completely and accurately and file progress notes and reports as directed. Take and document accurate vital signs. Administer medications, and intravenous injections. Collect and prepare specimens for testing, including blood draws. Accurately document relevant client/guest symptoms, observations, and procedures. Communicate in an attentive and client-centered manner in every interaction. Obtain and record client/guest medical history. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program under WAC 246-827-0200 & RCW 18.360.050
  • Successfully pass an approved Medical Assistant examination under WAC 246-827-0200 & RCW 18.360.050
  • Active Medical Assistant-Certified credential with the WA State DOH
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience practicing as a Medical Assistant
