Pre-Med Medical Assistant Program CAO- Summit Orthopedics offers a structured Medical Assistant program designed for pre-medical students seeking meaningful clinical experience during their gap years before medical school. This program provides hands-on exposure to the orthopedic clinical environment and the opportunity to work closely with physicians and care teams across all aspects of patient care. Participants will gain experience in a wide range of orthopedic procedures and clinical responsibilities, including suture removal, bracing and casting, pre-operative and post-operative care, and patient flow coordination. Students will also have opportunities to observe surgeries and develop a deeper understanding of orthopedic medicine while working alongside experienced providers who are committed to mentorship and teaching. The ideal candidate is a motivated pre-medical student planning to apply to medical school who can commit to the program for approximately two years. This role will begin in May 2026 and offers approximately 30 hours per week with part-time hours that may vary. Medical assistants will rotate between our Bethesda and Washington, DC offices . Students who demonstrate strong performance and professionalism during the program may be considered for a letter of recommendation from the physicians they work with to support their future medical school applications.
