About The Position

This position will be for the new Woodlands location opening in December of 2025. Basic Responsibility The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing support services to ensure efficient operation in the offices and clinical environment. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Requirements

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of electronic medical records software and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements
• Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program with current CMA certification from AAMA,AMT or NCCT.
• 2 or more years of Medical Assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and document basic medical history
• Organizing and scheduling appointments
• Updating and filing medical records and insurance reports
• Schedule and pre-cert surgical procedures and laboratory services
• Assist during medical examinations
• Scan and index medical documents into patient charts
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with patients, coworkers, doctors, managers, hospital staff and other individuals that you interact with at Fondren Orthopedic
