About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at CenterWell Senior Primary Care, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patient care, managing both administrative duties and direct patient care responsibilities. This role is based onsite in a clinical environment and reports to the Center Administrator. You will be tasked with a variety of activities, including moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. CenterWell Senior Primary Care is dedicated to providing proactive, preventive care to seniors, encompassing wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and treatment for minor injuries. Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • 1+ years of MA experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • CPR Certified
  • Screen for Tuberculosis (TB) if selected for this role

Nice To Haves

  • An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • Value-based Care experience includes knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medication under the direction of healthcare provider
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (HER) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
  • Perform administrative responsibilities
  • Perform operational assignments
  • Perform customer support assignments
