This role will support daily operations by managing medical assistant job functions as well as assisting with phone volume, assisting with clinical and administrative work queues, completing medication prior authorizations, rooming patients as needed, performing point-of-care gap closures, and scanning and labeling faxed documents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer & data entry skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, health sciences, public health or related field preferred
  • Experience in EMR strongly preferred
  • Certified or Registered MA preferred
  • Experience in allergy or pulmonary medicine helpful

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations by managing medical assistant job functions
  • Assist with phone volume
  • Assist with clinical and administrative work queues
  • Complete medication prior authorizations
  • Room patients as needed
  • Perform point-of-care gap closures
  • Scan and label faxed documents
  • Room patients
  • Take vitals
  • Prepare and process correspondence on behalf of assigned medical offices/providers
  • Procedure scheduling
  • Review and update patient insurance information in the medical record as assigned
  • Process/file documents within EMR into patient chart
  • Re-route documents to appropriate office locations in EMR
  • Send completed pre-op paperwork to surgical practices/hospital/etc.
  • Review & update patient upcoming appointment copay information
  • Submit and follow up on requested tests and referrals ordered by provider
  • Monitor and prioritize inbound results, clinical documents and patient cases in EMR, and work with providers and other support staff to address/close
  • Other duties as assigned
