About The Position
A medical assistant is responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing patient care. They perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth running of the healthcare facility. The duties of a medical assistant include: Recording patient medical history and vital signs Preparing patients for medical examinations Assisting healthcare professionals during medical procedures Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens Performing basic laboratory tests Administering medications and injections as directed by healthcare professionals Preparing and maintaining medical equipment Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant training program
- Certification as a medical assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records
