About The Position

This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. The position is located at Scripps Clinic Encinitas, off Santa Fe Drive, and serves as a building float between Primary Care, Cardiology, Urology, and other specialty departments. This is a hybrid role that includes both MA front office and MA back office responsibilities. Why join Scripps Health? Requirements

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting

Responsibilities

Front office duties (Patient Service Representative)
Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
Collecting patient data in person and by phone
Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
Scheduling of appointments and procedures
Complete and accurate message taking
Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
