Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine and Urgent Care clinic. The Medical Assistant will play a key role in supporting patient care through clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Strong communication and customer service skills with patients of all ages.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations.
Accurately obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medication lists, and medical history in the electronic medical record.
Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and minor office interventions.
Administer injections, immunizations, and medications under provider supervision.
Perform point-of-care testing (such as rapid strep, urinalysis, glucose, flu, COVID-19, etc.) and document results.
Prepare and collect laboratory specimens; ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation.
Perform EKGs, wound care, ear lavage, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and other clinical duties as trained.
Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow safety and infection control standards, including cleaning and disinfection.
Accurately complete patient charting, referrals, authorizations, and patient follow-up tasks as directed.
Provide patient education and instructions for medications, tests, and procedures as directed by providers.
Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies.
Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting clinic operations.
