Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Family Medicine and Urgent Care clinic. The Medical Assistant will play a key role in supporting patient care through clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations.
  • Accurately obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medication lists, and medical history in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and minor office interventions.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and medications under provider supervision.
  • Perform point-of-care testing (such as rapid strep, urinalysis, glucose, flu, COVID-19, etc.) and document results.
  • Prepare and collect laboratory specimens; ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation.
  • Perform EKGs, wound care, ear lavage, splinting, nebulizer treatments, and other clinical duties as trained.
  • Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow safety and infection control standards, including cleaning and disinfection.
  • Accurately complete patient charting, referrals, authorizations, and patient follow-up tasks as directed.
  • Provide patient education and instructions for medications, tests, and procedures as directed by providers.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting clinic operations.
