About The Position

In accordance with the Medical Board of California, works under general supervision of the clinic physicians supported by the clinic nursing supervisor, clinic manager, clinic mid-levels and RN, in a controlled outpatient care area and performs a variety of duties. This position is represented by RCHEA. Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED preferred
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach above shoulders, sit, walk inclines and declines, stand, talk, hear, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift boxes and/or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to demonstrate lifting a 25-pound box from the floor.
  • Conformance with all HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations

Responsibilities

  • Assists practitioner and RN with basic administrative, clerical and technical supportive services and procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist or his designee.
  • Cross-trains for front office functions and fills in as needed.
  • Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of staff, patient and administrative information in the clinic, hospital and community setting.
  • Maintains lab and treatment rooms in an orderly manner.
  • Observes all clinic protocols and procedures as written.
  • Performs waived lab tests and lab internal QCs. Prepares samples for shipment to hospital lab.
  • Prepares patient for provider exam and collects all baseline information and records in the patient chart.
  • Takes patient vital signs, height and weight measurements. Records results in patient chart.
  • Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
