About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Montage Orthopedic and Sports Medicine is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients. This includes preparing patients for provider evaluations by taking vital signs, recording information, and assisting with treatments such as wound care, injections, and minor procedures. The role involves coordinating patient flow, ensuring efficient use of the facility and provider time, and maintaining treatment rooms. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist in scheduling surgeries, obtaining authorizations for diagnostics and Durable Medical Equipment, and ensuring all required clearances are in place. Administrative tasks include answering phone calls, responding to emails, and timely follow-up on flagged items. The Medical Assistant also maintains inventory levels of medical supplies, ensures cleanliness of treatment rooms, and participates in training new employees. This position works closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care, requiring strong organizational skills, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to patient confidentiality. The Medical Assistant is a key contributor to maintaining a safe, efficient, and clean work environment, ensuring proper equipment use and adequate supply stocking.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook.
  • Computer literate and comfortable using various office machines and filing systems.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, adjust to changing deadlines, and handle emergency situations or shifting priorities.
  • Attention to detail, conscientiousness, and a strong follow-through.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Capable of managing cash transactions and reconciling cash drawer balances with computer system reports accurately.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while ensuring high-quality results.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, and minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required within 12 months of hire date.
  • Effective December 1st, 2025, all incoming medical assistants are required to have a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or a Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
