About The Position

Assist physicians with medical procedures in the office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days)
  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • One year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office with the ability to perform venipuncture preferred
  • Critical thinking skills, including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management, and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
  • Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset, but not required. Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.
  • Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness, and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration, and partnerships, as well as positive employee, physician, and community relations.
  • Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Background, drug, and nicotine screens
  • All new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption.
  • FCS is a drug-free workplace, and all new hires will be subject to drug/ nicotine testing. Medical Marijuana cards are not recognized.
